Movies The Gaea Star Crystal Trilogy, Part 1:  HistoryHistorical introduction to the creation of the screenplays and original spiritual teachings of the Gaea Star Crystal materials By Mariam Massaro THE BIRTH OF GAEA STAR CRYSTAL began November 1998 when I watched the beautiful sunset with my late cat Fu Manchu on my herb farm in Western Massachusetts. As we enjoyed the peaceful stillness and colorful sky, I was inspired to write a play using outdoor theater and music to express the beauty of mother earth and the importance of preserving her resources for the future. I named it The Rainbow Crystals of the Earth. During the ensuing long cold winter months I enjoyed weaving animals, spirits, dreams and other ideas into the story. It then turned into a musical after 13 songs came to me in the night, at times right out of my dream state. I have always loved to sing sacred prayers to the Creator for many years. My young son Jesse, an aspiring talented actor, was a constant help and guiding force. Eventually the play became a story about the adventures of seekers who bring back balance to the earth by traveling to the four corners of the world in search of the sacred knowledge crystals hidden long ago by wise elders. The four corners represent the human race. The people of the earth must first awaken to their beauty within to become loving, caring beings. There were originally over 25 different parts including the seekers, elders, goddesses, fairies, animals, gems and spirits of the earth who appeared to me asking to be included in the story. The play, completed in April 1999, was performed only once on Earth Day at my farm with a small group of performers on a beautiful sunny day with no rehearsal. Scripts were even handed to friends who came that day to build a sweat lodge for Charley Thom, a medicine man from Northern California. We all enjoyed performing Rainbow Crystals of the Earth, especially the children. A real fox trotted into the middle of our group just after the fox part was read to sniff the stuffed animals that were on the Lady of the Beast's set. The Queen of the Faeries and a little girl wore beautiful glistening handmade wings. The little faerie happily sprinkled faerie dust throughout the farm following the performers. It was a mystical day with real fairies dancing with us. My life changed dramatically soon after the play, as if some of the events of the story came true. The sweat lodge, built that day next to my singing brook was powerful and healing, for me and for all the wonderful people that came to it. The fire keeper for Charley Thom became my new husband for the next five years. We enjoyed staying busy growing herbs, raising Icelandic horses, sheep and llamas and running my herbal production company, Wise Ways Herbals, founded in 1988, which creates handmade herbals for all over the country and the world. The Rainbow Crystals of the Earth play ended up on a bookshelf and was nearly thrown out several times. Each time, I heard a little voice within say," Wait someday I may rewrite this fantasy into a musical or even a movie." A few editors after reviewing the play encouraged me to put more angst or negative drama in it. I was not sure that I had the desire to do that. For nine years my involvement in sweat lodges and other native traditions of North and South America led me to Colombia and Peru to study with shamans of the jungle and the Inca of the Andes. Eventually this led to a new role as a medicine woman, leading ceremonies and a ministry, Star Water Healing Sanctuary. My herbal company is still operating out of my country farmhouse after 22 years. In the fall of 2007 a dream guided me to rewrite the play. By this time the computer was long gone with the original text. Charlyn Jordan retyped the play into a new computer right after Christmas. A few days later I heard a voice within calling me to look outside at the starry sky saying, "Get up! Pay attention." I saw an orange glowing 'star' shining brilliantly into my bedroom as large as a pumpkin. It surprised me to see Mars so huge but I remember hearing that it was the closest to earth in many years. At the same time, comet Holmes was in the news for being the brightest distant comet in recent history, as it blazed a trail through our solar system beyond the orbit of Mars. As I was looking I heard another message from spirit, "Change the name of the play to Gaea Star Crystal. Begin before the beginning, in heaven, where the Gaea Star was discussed in a grand council. We who inhabit the celestial realms guide the evolution of human civilizations. Our name for planet Earth is the Gaea Star. Present the story that the angelic ones, the archangels, as well as the other ascended masters from the heavenly realms, are guiding you to awaken to your true missions upon the Gaea Star." I was very excited and began writing the play as instructed with my partner Dameron on New Year's Eve. We finished Act One at exactly midnight. Charlyn connected me with Teka Luttrell, a visionary artist and author from California who designs unique imagery, books and websites. His website is The Soul Connection Network essential for restoring balance to humanity. My dreams and messages from spirit continue to lead me onward with beautiful insights and new songs. In the past two years I have met many of the characters in real life I envisioned for the Gaea Star Crystal. I get an intense warm feeling when I meet them as if we already know each other and have wonderful spiritual work and play to do together. Hence, the Gaea Star Crystal story is reflected in my own living reality. People have dreamed about meeting me and have felt an awakening of ancient memories upon seeing the opening art. These deep connections that continue to happen are confirmations that the spirit of this project is powerful, timely and exciting to rekindle. We are very excited to present the teachings of my spirit guide, Ashento, who is my Twin Flame companion as well. As you see, the Gaea Star project has evolved into a complex, far-reaching, visionary, catalytic spiritual adventure, very different from the original play, blossoming in many ways. The Gaea Star CD, with 11 songs, was released in Jan of 2009, thanks to Dameron and Brian Johnson for their guiding help with the music, and the recording. These original songs help to bring joy, awakening, and inspiration to find the light within. Crystal Whalen and her partner Carlos, filmmakers from NY, with their company, New Heights Cinema are interested in the film. We hope to create some smaller films and documentaries together. As of Sept 7 2009, the Gaea Star Crystal book is now in formation, with a publisher ready. May the blessings of this story help us to remember why we came and who we truly are so we can enjoy the beauty of this profound life here on this sacred Mother Gaea.
